Complete Wash And Wax | The Steps We Take To Detail And What Influences Price

The Wash And Wax is our most popular exterior detail with good reason, many people love to see their vehicle shiny and protected from harmful contaminants. The steps we take to complete the wash and wax are listed below. As well as what influences price.

Complete Wash And Wax | The Process

Cleaning The Wheels And Tires:

The wheels are always the dirtiest part of the vehicle. That is why we clean them first to make sure no brake dust or dirt gets on your paint. We always spray a degreaser on them first to break up a majority of the dirt. Next, we spray our wheel cleaner and use a variety of brushes to get into all the nooks and crannies including, a tire brush, a wheel barrel brush, a wheel face brush to clean larger areas on the face of the wheel, and a detail brush to clean all the tight areas of the wheel as well as the lug nuts and emblems.

Pre-Rinse And Pre-Wash:

Next, we mist the car down with water from our pressure washer to make sure when we degrease our pre-wash the car there is no staining. Then if the car is not coated with any protection we will spray our degreaser on the paint to break up the dirt, if it is coated we will use a chemical called Active Foam which will knock off the majority of the dirt while keeping the coating pristine. Then we will rinse the car with our electric pressure washer, (Do not worry it will not knock the paint off it has a low psi). We will spray a iron remover on the paint before we head into our contact wash.

Contact Wash:

Next, we will foam down the car with a Ph-neutral soap. This helps lubricate our wash towels during the process. To wash the car we use the one bucket wash method with microfiber wash towels. This just means for every panel we flip the towel to a new clean side. This will drastically reduce scratches and swirls.

Clay And Decontamination:

This process is used to remove embedded contaminants in the paint such as tar, bird droppings, bee droppings, rail dust, sap, and more. After we have sprayed our iron remover we will clay the car using a fine clay mitt to eliminate marring and still remove those contaminants. After we are done claying we will rinse down the vehicle.

Drying:

After all the soap is off the vehicle we will move to the drying process. This makes sure there are no water spots on the vehicle when we are done with the detail. We have multiple plush microfiber drying towels that help us dry the paint in minutes. for tighter areas such as the wheel or the grille, we will use an electric blower.

Applying the wax:

After the car is dry, we will start waxing the car using battery powered buffer, soft waxing pad, and Jescar power lock. Powerlock gives your vehicle an amazing shine and protection for up to 6 months. After waxing we clean the exterior windows, clean the doorjamb, and dress the tires.

What Influences Pricing For The Wash And Wax?

Pricing is dependent on these three factors. Size, condition, and package chosen. We will focus on condition in this section but if you would like to go more in-depth please visit this blog. If your car is dirtier or has more contaminants such as tar, sap, and bird droppings, that will require extra attention and time, hence charging more.
