Our Process For Biohazard Details (Vomit)

We know life can get messy, and whether it is one of your pets, or you are just sick and having a bad day, accidents can happen. We have cleaned up many biohazards such as poop and vomit here at Oak City Auto Detailing. Here is our process for cleaning them, and why we charge so much!

Our Process For Interior Details With Biohazards

For our biohazard details, we do a thorough blowout and vacuum on the car, scrub and steam all plastics, wipe down the glass, clean the doorjamb, and shampoo all carpets and upholstery. Depending on the severity of the biohazard we will clean in different ways, for example, we just had a biohazard detail last week where a client relative threw up all over the dash and car.

The throwup then solidified into chunks and drifted all around the car. Because of this, we needed to use an enzyme cleaner and steam the ENTIRE car, including the carpets, seats, and plastics. Think of it like this. The enzyme cleaner suffocates/ kills most of the bacteria, then we come behind with our steam cleaner to kill the remaining bacteria.

After we have sanitized/ gotten rid of the throwup, we will then go through our normal Interior Shampoo And Reset Detail Process ( which is basically like our premium interior detail) We will scrub down all the plastics, shampoo the carpets and seats, and condition the leather. We like to knock out the super gross stuff first so we are not working around it.

Why Pricing For Biohazard Car Detailing Is Different

Depending on the type of biohazard and the amount of it, our range for the upcharge on our Interior Shampoo And Reset detail is $100-400. You might be like WHOAH, that’s a lot of money, and we know. We have multiple reasons for why we charge so much. For one depending on the amount of the biohazard, these types of details often take a lot more time to complete than regular interior details. For example, the biohazard detail we just completed took over 7 hours. Two, we have to throw away towels and brushes we use and we have to clean all of our machines in-depth. Our machines are expensive, so we like to keep them in good condition.

That is a quick blog about our biohazard details. If you have a biohazard in your car, please feel free to contact us so we can remove it! Thanks so much and have a fantastic day!
